Data Protection

Privacy Policy & Data Protection

Our uncompromising commitment to data minimization, digital security, and protecting your personal privacy rights.

Our Privacy Commitment

Your privacy is fundamental. At Health Custodian, we do not sell, rent, monetize, or broker personal reader data.

When people search for medical information, they are often navigating deeply personal vulnerabilities. We believe reading about illness, symptoms, or medications should never result in commercial profiling or invasive ad tracking. This Privacy Policy details the limited data we handle, our strict technical safeguards, and your legal rights under international and national privacy frameworks (including EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, and US State Consumer Privacy statutes).

How We Handle Information

Data Minimization

We collect solely the minimal technical information required to deliver fast, secure page loads and respond to direct inquiries submitted via our contact forms.

Zero Commercial Profiling

We do not deploy third-party advertising tracking networks, behavioral remarketing cookies, or cross-site tracking scripts that profile your health interests.

Edge Security & TLS

All traffic is strictly encrypted using modern HTTPS (TLS 1.3), backed by Cloudflare edge security against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) threats.

Universal User Empowerment

You retain full legal rights to request access, rectification, or complete deletion of any communications or records you have shared with our team.

Categories of Data Processed

1. Information You Voluntarily Provide: When submitting a message via our Contact page, you provide your name, email address, and inquiry details. We use this information solely to correspond with you and do not share it with external commercial entities.
2. Technical & Network Telemetry: Like virtually all internet platforms, our servers and Cloudflare edge proxies automatically log standard non-personally identifiable diagnostic data (such as truncated IP addresses, browser user-agents, referring pages, and timestamp). This data is utilized solely for load optimization, spam prevention, and malicious traffic filtering.
3. Cookie & Preference Data: Functional preference storage (such as light/dark mode selection) and anonymized aggregate analytics. Detailed in our Cookie Policy.

European Economic Area & UK (GDPR)

If you access Health Custodian from the European Union, European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, our processing of your personal information is governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation) and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Lawful Bases for Processing (Article 6 GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): For non-essential analytics cookies, activated only after your affirmative opt-in. You may revoke consent at any time via Cookie Settings.
  • Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): For maintaining edge security, mitigating DDoS attacks, preventing abusive automated queries, and delivering responsive content delivery.
  • Contractual / Direct Request (Art. 6(1)(b)): For processing your email and name when you directly message our editorial team requesting correspondence.

2. Your Data Subject Rights (Articles 15–22 GDPR)

Under European data protection law, you possess enforceable statutory rights:

  • Right of Access (Art. 15): Obtain confirmation of whether your personal data is being processed and receive a readable copy.
  • Right to Rectification (Art. 16): Require correction of inaccurate contact information.
  • Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten", Art. 17): Request the permanent deletion of your inquiry messages and contact records.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18): Restrict processing under contested accuracy conditions.
  • Right to Data Portability (Art. 20): Receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object (Art. 21): Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national Data Protection Authority (such as the UK ICO or EU supervisory authorities).

We respond to verified requests within thirty (30) days without charge. Contact our privacy team via our Contact Channel.
