Campaign Description

To mark Frederick Banting's birthday, co-discoverer of insulin, this day, led by the International Diabetes Federation and WHO, calls for urgent action to improve access to diabetes prevention, care, and treatment, especially in low-resource settings.

The theme emphasizes early detection and intervention — screening for prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes risk factors before complications develop, and improving access to early diagnosis and treatment globally.
