Campaign Description

Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month is an annual campaign that increases awareness of cancers affecting the female reproductive system, including ovarian, cervical, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancers. It promotes prevention where possible, early recognition of symptoms, routine screening when appropriate, timely diagnosis, and access to quality treatment and survivorship care.

Theme Focus

The 2026 theme focuses on amplifying the experiences of people affected by gynecologic cancers, using lived experience to raise awareness, reduce stigma, encourage education and early recognition, strengthen community support, and inspire advocacy and action.

Key Priorities

  • Every voice matters: recognise the experiences of patients, survivors, caregivers and families.
  • Every journey is different: acknowledge that gynecologic cancers have different symptoms, risk factors, treatments and survivorship experiences.
  • Know the cancers: improve understanding of cervical, ovarian, uterine/endometrial, vaginal and vulvar cancers.
  • Recognise possible warning signs: encourage people to seek appropriate medical assessment for persistent or concerning symptoms.
  • Reduce stigma and silence: make conversations about gynecologic cancers more open and informed.
  • Turn stories into action: connect lived experience with education, prevention, early detection, support and advocacy.
  • Support people beyond diagnosis: include quality of life, survivorship, mental wellbeing, relationships and long-term care.
