World Vitiligo Day

Observed annually on 25 June — the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death — World Vitiligo Day raises awareness of vitiligo, an autoimmune condition affecting about 1% of the global population, and fights the social stigma and psychological toll faced by those living with it. Purple is the movement's signature color.

Theme Focus

This year's theme centers on transforming the shame and misunderstanding surrounding vitiligo into confidence, acceptance, and empowerment. It calls on society and healthcare providers to replace discrimination with support, inclusion, and evidence-based care. The 2026 global headquarters returned to Chandigarh, India, for a four-day event (June 25–28) featuring clinical education, mental-health support programming, and patient advocacy.
