A pillow protector is a removable covering placed over a pillow, usually beneath or in addition to a pillowcase, to protect the pillow from moisture, oils, allergens, and other contaminants.
Pillow protectors can help keep the underlying pillow cleaner and may reduce accumulation of materials such as sweat, skin oils, and skin flakes. Some specialized protectors are designed to reduce exposure to dust-mite allergens.
A pillow protector does not by itself prevent acne, and ordinary acne should not be attributed simply to an “unclean pillow.”
