Acne Vulgaris

Acne vulgaris is a common inflammatory skin condition in which hair follicles become blocked with sebum and dead skin cells, leading to blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, or deeper nodules.

It most often affects the face, chest, shoulders, and back because these areas contain many oil-producing glands. Acne can occur at any age but is especially common during adolescence and young adulthood.
