A pustule is a small, raised skin lesion filled with pus.
Pustules can occur in acne, bacterial infections, fungal infections, psoriasis, and several other skin conditions. In acne, they develop when inflammation within a blocked hair follicle causes immune cells and fluid to accumulate.
